Our movement of churches, ( Christian & Missionary Alliance) began as a single church plant.

Now there are 2,000 Alliance churches in the U.S. and more than 700 Alliance workers in 70 nations across the world.

In 1997, East Park Church was planted as part of this movement.

Now, with a clear call from God to plant a church, East park is beginning a church planter residency to prepare the Kisselburghs for church planting.

The goal of every church plant is to become a church that multiplies.

East Park is partnered with the Portland Metro Network, a group of local Alliance planters and pastors. Through this partnership, East Park is giving 5% to local and global church planting.

In 2021 culture is changing faster than ever and fewer people in our communities are part of a church.

This means we need to send more new churches into our communities.

New churches have the ability to be highly innovative and flexible, finding new ways to engage and serve new people in our cities.

"A vigorous and continuous approach to church planting is the only way to guarantee an increase in the number of believers, and is one of the best ways to renew the whole body of Christ."

-Timothy Keller

Joe will now serve as Church Planter Resident at East Park.

Joe has served in worship, young adult, and teaching ministries. Now God is inviting Joe to join the church planting movement by planting a church.

He is passionate about bringing the good news of Jesus to people who may have experienced Christianity, but haven't experienced Jesus or the joy of finding their place in His body.

The church Planter:

  • Prepares to plant a healthy church by participating in training and mentorships with experienced planters and pastors.

  • Begins to identify church plant leaders and starts building groups and teams at East Park.

  • Prays and discerns specifically who the plant should serve, and how to reach them.
  • The church plant is sent by East Park and the new church is launched.

  • Target date: Winter of 2022 - 2023
